Creating A Phantom Wallet

Step 1: Download and Install Phantom

1. Visit the Official Website: Go to phantom.app to ensure you’re downloading the official version.
2. Choose Your Browser Extension: Phantom supports popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. Click on your preferred option.
3. Install the Extension: Follow the browser’s prompts to add the Phantom extension.

Step 2: Create Your Wallet

1. Open the Phantom Extension: Click on the Phantom icon in your browser’s toolbar.
2. Create a New Wallet:
   • Click “Create a New Wallet.”
   • Set a strong password to secure your wallet.
3. Backup Your Secret Recovery Phrase:
   • Phantom will generate a 12-word recovery phrase.
   • Write it down on paper and store it securely offline. Do not share it with anyone.
   • This phrase is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access.

Step 3: Fund Your Wallet

To interact with the Solana ecosystem, you’ll need SOL (Solana’s native token). Here’s how to get some:

1. Copy Your Wallet Address:
   • Open Phantom and click “Deposit” to find your public wallet address.
   • Click “Copy” to copy the address to your clipboard.
2. Buy SOL from an Exchange:
   • Purchase SOL on an exchange like Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken.
   • Transfer SOL from the exchange to your Phantom wallet by pasting your wallet address in the exchange’s withdrawal section.
3. Confirm the Transaction:
   • Wait a few minutes for the transaction to confirm, and your SOL will appear in Phantom.
